What this test measures
The Sequence Memory Test measures serial working memory, holding not just which positions lit up, but the order they lit up in. The sequence replays with one extra step each round. One wrong step ends the run.
Remembering order is harder than remembering position alone, which is why sequence spans run shorter than simple visual spans.
