What this test measures
The N-Back Test is a 2-back task: letters appear one at a time, and you tap when the current letter matches the one from two steps earlier.
The n-back task dates to 1958 and is widely used in working-memory research. Scoring is hits minus false alarms, so both missed matches and wrong taps lower the score.
