What this test measures
The Pattern Recognition Test measures fluid reasoning, inducing the rule behind a sequence and projecting it forward. Ten puzzles, each hiding one rule: arithmetic steps, alternations, positional shifts, nested cycles. You answer what comes next.
Rule-induction items appear in matrix-style reasoning tests because they cannot be answered from knowledge alone. Each puzzle contains enough information to find the rule.
